Composting Advisory Committee
Discussion on Centralized Composting in Powell River
The qathet Regional District (formerly the Powell River Regional District) board voted on September 19th, 2011 to move in the direction of centralized composting for the region. This motion was based on the recommendation provided to the Committee of the Whole with a proposed detailed action plan for working with the City of Powell River on collection logistics, transportation and processing of organic materials. At the conclusion of the study, it was determined that it was not feasible at this time to proceed with Centralized Composting in Powell River.
